Phase I

Smithtown School District is developing a marketing strategy to raise money for two new athletic fields and possibly additional baseball fields. These fields are made with synthetic turf which is a considerable upgrade from current grass fields. These new state of the art fields require little maintenance and are extremely durable. The current grass fields become unusable in the event of severe weather conditions. Examples: heavy rain, snow and droughts. Often the fields become too muddy for teams to practice, and in dry conditions the grass tends to dry up making the grass turn to dirt. The current conditions of our grass fields are in poor condition from the football season this past fall. With the new synthetic turf fields all of these issues could be resolved. Many high schools have already invested and raised money to convert their grass fields in synthetic turf fields. Smithtown School District requires that fundraising takes place to ensure that this new type of technology be made available to our community.

This part of the project requires each group to create a slogan for the fundraising campaign that is to take place in September 2007. This slogan should be catchy and appealing to more than one target market. Remember fundraising is going to take place throughout the community, so you must create something that is designed to appeal to all members of the community. You are required to create 2 different slogans as a group. You may use resources from the internet or any other available resource that you feel will help you in the process.
