Phase II

Your assignment is to develop a promotional print advertisement that will be displayed throughout the community. This ad should be informative and explain the purpose behind the project. Since this is a community based fundraising project, the ad should appeal to a variety of target markets. The ad should be printed in color on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.

The goal is to be able to raise private funds for the creation of multipurpose fields within the Smithtown school district. Use this website as a guide when creating your ads.

Your promotional ad should contain the following:

· The purpose of the fundraising project
· A picture of the Smithtown logo
· A picture of what the field might look like (use websites of other schools to get a photo)
· Easy to read font
· Contact information ( If someone wanted additional information who would they contact)
· The benefits of having the multipurpose (synthetic grass) fields

You may want to do more than one promotional ad, if you have a specific target market you are looking to market towards.

Phase I

Smithtown School District is developing a marketing strategy to raise money for two new athletic fields and possibly additional baseball fields. These fields are made with synthetic turf which is a considerable upgrade from current grass fields. These new state of the art fields require little maintenance and are extremely durable. The current grass fields become unusable in the event of severe weather conditions. Examples: heavy rain, snow and droughts. Often the fields become too muddy for teams to practice, and in dry conditions the grass tends to dry up making the grass turn to dirt. The current conditions of our grass fields are in poor condition from the football season this past fall. With the new synthetic turf fields all of these issues could be resolved. Many high schools have already invested and raised money to convert their grass fields in synthetic turf fields. Smithtown School District requires that fundraising takes place to ensure that this new type of technology be made available to our community.

This part of the project requires each group to create a slogan for the fundraising campaign that is to take place in September 2007. This slogan should be catchy and appealing to more than one target market. Remember fundraising is going to take place throughout the community, so you must create something that is designed to appeal to all members of the community. You are required to create 2 different slogans as a group. You may use resources from the internet or any other available resource that you feel will help you in the process.

  3. Use the internet to research the beginning of instant replay in professional football. Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin offer a peek inside the Google machine, sharing tidbits about international search patterns and the philanthropic Google Foundation project (which soon became Google.org). They talk about how their shared Montessori background led to the company's "20 Percent Time" policy, which is directly responsible for success stories such as Google News and AdSense. Google's dedication to innovative thinking and employee happiness is behind everything from the offices' specially soundproofed projectors (which make it much easier to follow what's being said in meetings) to the company's thematically rotating logo.

How did Fiji water become one of the bestselling brands of bottled water in the United States--even though it's one of the most expensive? Is it because it tastes that much better or is more nutritious? Nope. Fiji is a winner because of the story the bottle tells.

Endorsements

Endorsement is a person's public expression of approval or support for a product. Do you pay more attention to a product advertised and endorsed by a famous athlete or movie star? Endorsements involve matching the right celebrity personality with a product. It is important that the celebrity is believable. Think of examples of athletes who would be good endorsers for products.
Assignment:
