Promotion is communication with the customer. Promotion must be targeted at a group of current or potential customers using the marketing information gathered. Capturing targeted audiences are coveted and daunting tasks that marketers face today. Read this blog post by renowned marketer Seth Godin and ask yourself the question: Do you have to be #1 to succeed? Please comment below on why or why not.

Character Education
Here in Smithtown we cordially invite our students to have C.L.A.S.S. That is Citizenship, Leadership, Achievement, Scholarship, and Spirit. As per this theme we will be viewing the movie 'Remember the Titans' with Denzel Washington. This movie demonstrates the power of having C.L.A.S.S. It teaches that in life you will be faced with many challenges and to overcome obstacles you must trust the soul of a man. 'Remember the Titans' is a touching film that has the force to inspire. Consider the many lessons that are exhibited while watching this triumphant movie.
FANS
Fans are the customers of all sports and entertainment events. In addition to having a winning team, sports and entertainment marketers must know what other elements please the fans. The Sports Fans of America Association (SFAA) focuses on improving sports from the fans’ perspective.

Answer the following questions on paper and submit before leaving class.

1: List at least three issues that impact fans’ enjoyment of sports, and describe how the issues could be resolved.

2: Determine the mission of the SFAA.

3: Who are the advertisers on the SFAA web site? What is the age group of the target customer for the advertisers?
